Our clinic features doctors of physical therapy who have studied at some of the top Universities in the nation including, Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine (WUSM), which is well known for its strong foundation in movement science and is consistently ranked as the #1 Program for Physical Therapy in the nation by U.S. News and World Report. Our therapists are supported by a team of PT aides and interns that work together seamlessly to provide our patients the topmost care in a community-driven and family-oriented environment. You will find that our staff is very active and enjoys many of the same recreational activities as our patients including surfing, rock climbing, martial arts, running, cycling, dancing and much more!
Dr. Su Wang, founder, PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS, cnc
Raised in Ft. Collins, CO, Dr. Su Wang is the founder, owner, and clinical director at Movement Specialists Physical Therapy. Dr. Su received her dual Bachelors degree in Biology and Chinese from Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL) in 2005 and soon after, her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine (WUSM) in 2008.
After graduation, Dr. Su moved to Orange County, CA to begin her career as a physical therapist working in a variety of practice settings including sports, geriatrics, aquatics, and orthopedics. In 2009, Su earned her certification as a Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and soon after became a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) in 2011. After working for many different physical therapy companies, Su soon saw that the standard of care was not equal across the board, and decided that the best way to provide for her patients was to open her own clinic, Movement Specialists Physical Therapy, P.C. in 2014. Most recently, Dr. Wang earned her Certification in Nutrition Counseling (CNC) in 2018 in order to incorporate holistic wellness consultation into her practice.
As a competitive swimmer for 14 years and two-time NCAA qualifier in the 200m butterfly, Dr. Su understands how important proper movement is to both the recreational and elite level athlete. In addition to swimming, Su is an avid runner and enjoys running marathons as well as rock climbing as another way to stay moving. However, her greatest passion is SURFING.
Dr. Wang is excited to be working with the USA Olympic Surf Team Performance Committee and will utilize her skillset to optimize the movement of elite level surfers.
Dr. Su is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
In addition to providing outstanding patient care, Dr. Wang serves as a clinical instructor and mentor for the Movement System Impairments (MSI) fellowship program with Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine. Su is a passionate educator and advocate of physical therapy whose ultimate goal is to teach her patients how to MOVE SMARTER in order to LIVE BETTER.
Dr. Taylor Stuckly, PT, DPT
Dr. Taylor Stuckly is a staff physical therapist and has been with the MSPT team as a student and now as a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Raised in Chicago, IL, Dr. Stuckly was a competitive dancer and long distance runner growing up and enjoyed staying active throughout school. She received her Bachelors degree in Community Health and Rehabilitation from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2014 and graduated with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from WUSM in 2018.
Taylor was first introduced to the team at MSPT as a DPT student during her third clinical rotation in the summer of 2017. With a strong interest in application of movement system principles, Dr. Stuckly was immediately drawn to the mission statement of MSPT is excited to start her PT career with a company that truly values optimal movement and function.
Like the rest of the MSPT team, Taylor enjoys being active, however, she cannot stand up on a surfboard… yet. Some of her interests include running, cycling, hiking, yoga, and taking dance classes. She is enthusiastic to start this new journey in Orange County and looks forward to finally living out her dream of helping people reach their greatest potential through optimizing movement. Her clinical interests include rehabilitation of the foot/ankle, especially in the gymnastics and performing arts population as well as movement analysis and treatment for the injured runner.
Dr. Stuckly currently splits her time between both the Huntington Beach and Costa Mesa clinics and is certified in Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) GRASTON Certified.
Dr. Christine nguyen, PT, DPT
Dr. Christine Nguyen is a staff physical therapist and was born and raised in Orange County, CA. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from California State University Fullerton in 2014 and then went on to receive her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from University of St. Augustine in 2018.
Dr. Christine grew up ice skating and playing tennis. She now likes to do yoga, cycle, and hike in her free time as well as try new places to eat.
Dr. Christine first started on the MSPT team as a PT aide in 2015 and is excited to come back onto the team as a physical therapist. She is interested in movement system impairments and how diagnosing the patient according to this system leads to faster and better results. She is happy to begin her physical therapy career at a clinic that emphasizes the significance of functional movement and to help her patients reach their goals of physical fitness. She looks forward to restoring and improving her patients’ movement patterns while providing the correct tools to enhance their quality of life.
Dr. Christine is fluent in Vietnamese and speaks basic Spanish. She treats mainly at the Huntington Beach clinic.
IAN JENNINGS, CFO
Born and raised in Orange County, Ian has a passion for outdoor activities and sports such as surfing, jiu-jitsu, rock climbing, golfing, camping, fishing and traveling. Receiving his B.S. in Accounting & Finance, Ian takes on the financial responsibility of MSPT to keep the clinic running as smooth as possible for both the patients and the providers. Ian's vision for the environment at Movement Specialists Physical Therapy is focused on a relaxed non-traditional outpatient clinic approach, with ensuring the best patient experience as his top priority. A foundation of quality of care in which our patients are considered an extension of our family where they can learn about human movement, improve their game, and heal in a positive and productive environment.
Stephanie Flores, PT AIDE
Stephanie Flores grew up in Yucaipa, Ca and moved to Orange County to play volleyball at Vanguard University in Costa Mesa. She earned her bachelors degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science in May of 2016.
As a high school and collegiate athlete, Stephanie was initially drawn to Athletic Training as a possible career choice. After being introduced to the field of rehabilitation through her experience at MSPT, however, she transitioned her interest to pursuing a career in Physical Therapy. She is currently applying to DPT programs in and out of state.
In her free time, Stephanie loves staying active by playing volleyball, hiking, and attending spin classes. She enjoys working with all types of patients and lives by the quote “Never ever give up” in honor of her nephew who battled pediatric Neuroblastoma.
Kevin Garrido, PT Aide
Kevin was born and raised in Orange County and grew up playing competitive lacrosse up through high school. Kevin attended California State University Fullerton where he received his Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology in 2016
In his free time, Kevin enjoys spending time with friends and family, hiking and watching Mixed Martial Arts.
Kevin is fluent in Spanish and enjoys working with every patient that walks in our doors. He loves the learning and community-based environment at MSPT. He currently aides at our Costa Mesa clinic assisting Dr. John Huang and Dr. Taylor Stuckly.
His experience here has given him a deep appreciation for physical therapy and rehabilitation. Kevin is looking forward to applying to DPT programs such as WUSTL and local schools in California in the 2020 cycle.
Lisa Tran, PT AIDE
Lisa Tran is lifelong resident of Orange County. In 2015, she received her associate arts degree from Santa Ana College, where she also played basketball for 2 years. She later transferred to the California State University Fullerton where she received her bachelors degree in Kinesiology in May 2018.
Besides working as a PT aide for MSPT, Lisa also coaches girls’ basketball at her alma mater: Westminster High School. In her free time, Lisa enjoys spending time with her friends and family, especially at the beach playing spike ball!
Lisa will be pursuing a career in physical therapy and is currently applying to DPT programs in California. She is fluent in Vietnamese and enjoys working with all types of patients, but most notably kids and athletes. Lisa aides Dr. Taylor Stuckly at the Huntington Beach clinic.
