Dr. Su Wang, founder, PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS, cnc

Raised in Ft. Collins, CO, Dr. Su Wang is the founder, owner, and clinical director at Movement Specialists Physical Therapy. Dr. Su received her dual Bachelors degree in Biology and Chinese from Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL) in 2005 and soon after, her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine (WUSM) in 2008.

After graduation, Dr. Su moved to Orange County, CA to begin her career as a physical therapist working in a variety of practice settings including sports, geriatrics, aquatics, and orthopedics. In 2009, Su earned her certification as a Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and soon after became a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) in 2011. After working for many different physical therapy companies, Su soon saw that the standard of care was not equal across the board, and decided that the best way to provide for her patients was to open her own clinic, Movement Specialists Physical Therapy, P.C. in 2014. Most recently, Dr. Wang earned her Certification in Nutrition Counseling (CNC) in 2018 in order to incorporate holistic wellness consultation into her practice.

As a competitive swimmer for 14 years and two-time NCAA qualifier in the butterfly, Dr. Su understands how important proper movement is to both the recreational and elite level athlete. In addition to swimming, Su is an avid runner and enjoys running marathons as well as rock climbing & muay thai as another way to stay moving. However, her greatest passion is SURFING.

Dr. Wang is always excited to educate and train surfers of all ages to help them become elite surfers and reduce risk of injury in and out of the water.

Dr. Su is fluent in English & Mandarin Chinese.

In addition to providing outstanding patient care, Dr. Wang serves as a clinical instructor and mentor for the Movement System Impairments (MSI) fellowship program with Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine. Su is a passionate educator and advocate of physical therapy whose ultimate goal is to teach her patients how to MOVE SMARTER in order to LIVE BETTER.
